Robin Shenfield

CHAIRMAN

Robin is the co-founder and CEO of The Mill, the market-leading 850-person creative content studio with offices in London, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.  The Mill has been honoured as one of the most awarded companies’ of the last 50 years in design and advertising by British Design & Art Direction (D&AD). 

Robin was a pioneer in creating visual effects for feature films, acting as the Executive Producer on the visual effects created for Gladiator, for which The Mill won an Academy Award for Visual Effects.

Robin began his career in journalism and marketing before joining a division of Virgin Group in 1986, moving to co-found The Mill in 1990. 

Tom McDonnell

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Tom leads Monterosa, guiding the company vision and the evolution of its products and international business. As the evangelist for Monterosa’s vision, Tom regularly speaks at major international events such as IBC, MIPCOM and Digital Hollywood.

In 2012 he was named Broadcast Magazine's 6th most influential person in UK Digital Broadcasting. In 2013 he was named in the Top 20 global experts in Social and second screen TV by respected industry publication Appmarket.tv

Simon Brickle

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

A Cambridge-educated software engineer, Simon manages all aspects of Monterosa’s production, operations and business affairs. Simon has overseen thousands of hours of prime-time TV interaction and built Monterosa into the most well respected player in the business.

Prior to founding Monterosa with Tom McDonnell in 2003, Simon worked in technical, management and consulting roles in Munich, Minsk, Milan and London, including four years at the BBC as head of web development.

 

Igor Loboda

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

Monterosa’s most highly experienced software engineer hails from Belarus and leads product development and infrastructure. Igor’s specialises in building highly scalable cloud applications in a range of technologies including C++, Ruby on Rails, and Java. Before joining Monterosa, Igor worked in Minsk for a US telephony company, a major offshore development house and for the BBC’s highly regarded web development team in London.

Marek Gumienny

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Marek joined the Monterosa board with 24 Haymarket's investment in 2015. Marek is the former Chairman of Candover Investment Partners. He has over 25 years of private equity experience across a variety of industries. 

Ben Barker

CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

Ben is an experienced brand marketer, who spent 11 years with WPP-owned Communications Agency H+K Strategies where he created sponsorship and partnership consultancy Soho Partners before joining Monterosa. Clients included Allianz, multiple P&G brands, Carling, Nissan, Betway, Aviva and Statoil.

Ben works with brands, broadcasters and sports federations, to inspire and concept the next generation of interactive fan experiences.

Jess Meredith

HEAD OF E-COMMERCE

Jess has 10 years experience working in ecommerce, marketing and strategy within both startups and large scale organisations. Most recently, Jess worked at Sainsbury’s Argos (formerly Argos), supporting its transformation from catalogue retailer to one of the UK’s leading digital retailers.

Jess leads Show Stores, Monterosa’s game-changing ecommerce solution. She is passionate about applying innovation and a customer focused strategy to drive new revenue streams for clients.

Hannah Murray-Sykes

HEAD OF MARKETING & STRATEGY

Hannah’s background is in Martech, leading multi-disciplinary marketing and commercial product teams. At reviews software company Reevoo, she was responsible for the global go-to-market strategy.

Hannah currently heads up marketing & strategy at Monterosa. Her focus is on evolving Monterosa’s proposition to drive value for both the business and its clients. She’s also handy with a foreign language or four.

Peter Cassidy

DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL ENTERTAINMENT

Peter has over 15 years international experience in interactivity and digital media. As well as stints leading innovation at broadcaster RTL Netherlands and production house Fremantle, he also spent 5 years building the European business of app-building platform Applicaster serving media clients across the continent.

When not helping our broadcast clients look for new ways to facilitate audience interaction, he is usually found at a live music gig or watching his beloved Manchester United.

Amit Soni

DESIGN DIRECTOR

Amit is an award-winning design director with 12 years' experience creating engaging digital solutions across multiple channels, brands and sectors. Prior to joining Monterosa Amit worked at Karmarama & Nice Agency, where he designed transformational digital experiences for First Direct, Costa Express & The Independent.

Amit leads the Monterosa design team, crafting fan-focused experiences, data driven solutions and products that clients love. With a hands-on approach, he enjoys working closely with clients to ensure the output is of the highest standard.

Richard Pilgrim

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Richard is a qualified accountant with over 15 years’ experience as a finance leader in high growth SMEs. Prior to joining Monterosa in 2019, he spent 5 years at digital services business Tigerspike taking them through fundraising and exit.

He is responsible for leading all aspects of the business's finances and delivering on its financial plan.

Colin Miller

HEAD OF FINANCE

Colin has 12 years under his belt working in the London tech scene. Before joining Monterosa he lead the finance department at London and New York based startup studio Mint Digital. During his time there, Mint raised capital and spun out seven new companies leading to two exits.

He works across Monterosa’s finance function, ensuring the business stays on track.

Ian Smith

HEAD OF PEOPLE

Ian has a broad range of international experience with leading Tech Sector organisations, delivering organisational performance by leading, driving and delivering people plans and solutions. He delivers lectures to students in personnel and development, and is an active member of his professional body.

Ian is responsible for creating and implementing the people strategy across the business, and taking the lead in the development and growth of the Liverpool office.
